Part two of a bridge repair project on I-255 near Collinsville has been delayed, as the weather forecast for this weekend does not look favorable for construction, according to information shared by IDOT. The same area of interstate was closed a couple of weekends ago for the first phase, which began the process of filling holes and resurfacing the span.

Once the project is rescheduled, IDOT engineer Joel Cumby tells The Big Z the detour will last from 9pm Friday through 5am Monday, weather permitting.

This is not a full bridge replacement, as had been reported elsewhere.
