A couple of road projects in the Wood River and Roxana area begin today. IDOT will be performing repair work on the phoebe Goldberg Bridge in Wood River. That's the bridge just east of the Illinois Route 143 and Route 3 intersection that carries traffic over a number of railroad tracks.
IDOT Engineer John Scheibal tells The Big Z this is a standard maintenance project.

IDOT will also begin work on Illinois Route 111 from 8th Street to Thomas Street today. That job involves the relocation of the water main, sidewalk and ADA improvements, and the installation of highway lighting. Both jobs are expected to be complete by November 1.
