The local tourism industry remains a vital player in the region's economy, but it’s been suffering at the hands of the pandemic and statewide restrictions most of the year.  According to the head of the local tourism bureau, millions of dollars each year in visitor spending pumps up the local economy.

While much is on hold for now, Great Rivers and Routes Tourism Bureau President Cory Jobe tells The Big Z that will change once the pandemic is over.

Jobe says that while many visitor hotspots in the region are closed right now, there are a number of virtual tours that you may find as an option.
