Supporters of shared parenting legislation are arguing their case at the state capitol. The bill changes state law to presume that 50/50 parenting between divorced moms and dads is what's best for children.

Advocates say men deserve to be in their kids; lives as much as women, but Carrie Boyd with the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence says equal time may not always be best.
