The Village Garden in Godfrey was one of 12 projects recognized by the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener program. Every year, the program acknowledges projects for their impactful and innovative educational outreach with a Teamwork State Award.

Master Gardener, Nancy Orill tells The Big Z just how much of an impact it has on the community in the years to come.

The Village Garden includes ornamentals. Fruits, vegetables, herbs and much more. Master Gardener volunteers reported over 670 volunteer hours for the 2018 year as well as produce donations to Crisis Food Pantry in Alton.

Visitors are welcomed at the Garden, it’s located behind the Village of Godfrey Office at 6810 Godfrey Road in Godfrey, Illinois.
