Last week, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois announced that a Pontoon Beach man has been sentenced to 30 months in a federal prison. 34-year-old Marc Biggs was sentenced for felony possession of a firearm. Biggs will also serve three years of supervised release after his prison term, and has been ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.
According to court proceedings, officers were called to a Madison apartment over reports of "squatting" where police found Biggs hiding in a bedroom in possession of a rifle. Biggs is a previously convicted felon and was prohibited from owning firearms.
