The Great Rivers Choral Society is looking for Riverbend residents who want to share their love of singing. The group is holding a series of Summer Sings at Haskell Park in Alton on Tuesday evenings starting tomorrow. There is no cost to join and following rehearsal there will be a free performance at the park.
Choir Director Ron Abraham tells the Big Z the idea is simply to give people an outlet to sing:

Abraham says the songs will be fairly simple and mostly familiar and after a 45-minute rehearsal that starts at 6:30pm, the group will put on a free informal concert starting at 7:30pm. He says if you'd like to sing in a choir, or did it in the past and want to again, just show up Tuesday at 6:30pm at Haskell Park on Henry Street in Alton. The series will run each Tuesday through Aug. 8.
