Reservations are due by the end of the day for Sunday's "Breakfast for a Hero." The event at the Alton-Wood River Sportsmen’s Club ball room is free to all veterans and their families. The guest speaker will be author and Vietnam Veteran Tom Reilly, who penned the book “Hope In The Shadows of War.”
One of the event organizers and sponsors is Jim Claywell, who tells The Big Z this is a way to thank veterans for their service.

Another of the event sponsors is Sam Roberts, a veteran Marine, as were many members of his family. He tells The Big Z recognition of veterans is a cause that is near and dear to him.

"Breakfast for a Hero" will be held from 8-10am on Sunday, November 11 at the Alton-Wood River Sportsmen’s Club ball room. You are asked to RSVP, and can do so by calling 618-433-8881, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
