Curtis Frye

Curtis M. Frye, 91, of O’Fallon, MO, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, after complications with diabetes and kidney disease.

Curtis was born November 3, 1924, in Alton, Illinois, the son of Benjamin H. Frye and Honour Hartsock Frye.  He attended schools in Alton, Illinois, and graduated from the Kodak Photography School in New York, New York.  He worked at Laclede Steel for several years, and then was a photographer for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corporation for over 30 years.

His interests included his great love of photography, traveling, playing chess in tournaments, square dancing, music, and enjoying the many friends he instantly made over the years.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Gaddis and her husband Stephen of Green River, WY;  two grandchildren;  one great-grandchild;  his devoted cousin, Ronald Frye and his wife Diane of Lake St. Louis, MO;  his sister, Rosemary Simpson and husband Wayne of Godfrey, IL;  several nephews,  nieces, and cousins;  and, his long-time friend Maxine Wheland.  He was preceded in death by his wife, MaryLou Stanke Frye; wife, Margaret H. Harris Frye;  his brother, Victor Frye;  his sister, Laura Georgia Templin, and, his loving dog, Charlie.

Curtis will be laid to rest in Valhalla Memorial Park of Godfrey, Illinois.
