As a young boy he grew up in Jerseyville, and attended Jersey Community High School as a member of the Class of 1980.

As an adult, he was employed as a Union Laborer, and for many years worked out of Local #636 in Jerseyville.  He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, and was a fan of the Miami Dolphins. He enjoyed being outdoors and enjoying nature whether it was gardening, deer hunting, fishing, or playing with his favorite dogs, his Weimaraner "Max", or the English Bulldog "Winston", that he gave to Sadie as a birthday gift.

He was formerly married to Julie Kessler, and together they were blessed with a daughter, although their marriage wasn't meant to be, the two remained vigilant and determined to work together out of love for their daughter, Sadie.

He is survived by his daughter, Sadie McAdams of Jerseyville; a brother and sister in-law, Rev. Robert and Holly McAdams of Jerseyville; three sisters and brothers in-law, Angela and Wesley Roady, Joetta and Bruce Pinkerton and Jolene and James Adair all of Jerseyville; his step-father, Wesley Powers of Jerseyville; an uncle, Paul McAdams of Jerseyville, and an aunt, Barbara Cox of Shipman; and his dear companion, Rita Giberson of Jerseyville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Boob" McAdams and his mother, Joella McAdams Powers; along with a brother, Richard Lockhart.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday.  His nephew, Rev. Mark Roady will officiate. Casual attire is requested for both services.

He will be laid to rest in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.

Memorials may be given to the Riverbend Humane Society in Jerseyville.
