Bernadine J. Geisen, 86, passed away at 12:15p.m. on November 19, 2018 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
She was born on April 25, 1932 in Meppen, IL, the daughter of John B. and Catherine G. (Baalman) Brinkman.
Bernadine married James R. Geisen on October 24, 1953 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Meppen, IL. He survives.
She was a longtime member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing games, especially cards, cooking, loved her family and was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Bernadine is survived by 6 daughters, Diana K. Geisen, Sharon M. Hayes, Patricia A (David) Eichen, Lori S. (Chris) Pember, Jeanne E. Naeger, Christina J. (Paul Noble) Geisen; 3 sons, Thomas A. (Jill) Geisen, Daniel J. (Vickie) Geisen, Roy E. (Sara) Geisen; 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers Bernard "Buddy" Brinkman and Vincent (Jo Ann) Brinkman.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 1 brother Jerome Brinkman; and 3 sisters Gertrude Heitzman, Angeline Walls and Marie Klaas.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m -12:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2018 with Fr. John Luong, O.M.V. as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. A luncheon will be provided by the church beginning at 1pm at the St. Matthew's/Mary's Community Center on Milton Rd in Alton.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church for Masses, Marquette Catholic High School or to the American Diabetes Association.
