Joseph Haufe

Joseph J. Haufe, 72, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 at his home in Alton. Born May 25, 1951 in Alton, he was the son of Joseph and Evelyn (Thomae) Haufe. Mr. Haufe served in the U.S. Army and was a self-employed contractor and jack of all trades. Surviving is a son, Douglas Haufe of Alton, Joe’s former wife, Jody Haufe of Alton, and his brother-in-law, Richard “Rick” Siemer of Brighton. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary C. Siemer and his nephew, Matt Siemer. Private graveside services will be held at St. Jospeh’s Cemetery in Alton. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrier Project. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
