Douglas Sydney Madlock, 89, died at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Cedar Creek of Godfrey.
He was born March 15, 1935 in McAlester, OK the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Estelle (Nichols) Madlock.
Douglas served in the U.S. Navy and he worked for many years as an electrician for the El Paso Natural Gas Company. On September 4, 1959 in Midland, TX he married Clorita Nell Newsome and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Sandra Anniece Root of Aztec, NM, one son, James Douglas Madlock (Sharon) of Jerseyville, IL, six grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Madlock, Jamie Lynn Madlock, Michelle Marie Madlock, Douglas Brian Madlock (Tara), Tyler Ryan Root and Sarah Nicole Root, seven great grandchildren, three sisters, Geraldine Skagg of Moriarty, NM, Mary Jo Lindsey of Deming NM and Judy Hattabaugh of Pahrump, Nevada.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline Holcomb, Maxine O’Briant and Shirley Thrower. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be at a later date. Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
