David W. Francis Jr., 66, passed away at 1:58 pm Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born on June 28, 1945 in Fredericktown, MO, the son of David W. and Esther (Parsons) Francis Sr.
He married Barbara A. (Norris) in January 1972 in East Alton. She preceded him in death on November 29, 2003.
Dave was employed in the Auto Parts Industry for a number of years and then became a realtor for Woolf Reality in Bethalto, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Bethalto Masonic Lodge # 406. He enjoyed fishing, camping and outdoor activities. Dave was a very outgoing and loved to joke. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Tia Francis of Bradenton, FL, his step children and spouses, Bev and Bill Lehnen of Moro, Bob & Glenda Bland of Bartlettsville, OK, David and Rhonda Leach of Dorsey, and Helen and Steve Reed of Shipman; Seventeen grandchildren, Briana, Madisen and Will Francis, Robert Jackson, Samantha and Johanna Lehnen, Luke and Kyle Bland, Craig, Sarah and Aaron Leach and Emily, Alison and Alex Reed; six great grandchildren, Logan, Mason, William, Carrie, Ashton and Tristan; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles& Evelyn Francis of Fredericktown, MO; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy & Roger Matthews and Kathy & Kevin Hill of Fredericktown and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation will be from 11 am until services at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown, MO, with Pastor Glen Rehkop officiating.
Burial will follow at Christian Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Bethalto Masonic Lodge # 406.
