Rachel Norris

Rachel Rina Norris, 76, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  Born April 22, 1941 in New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of Emile and Evelyn (Caron) Nadeau.  On March 9, 1963 she married William “Bill” Norris in Lac Baker, New Brunswick, Canada.  He preceded her in death on January 14, 2016.  Mrs. Norris retired after 30 years from Beverly Farm in Godfrey.  Surviving are four children, Dr. William R. “Bob” Norris (Julie) of Champaign, IL, Pam Savoie (Mark) of Los Angeles, California, John Norris (Rhonda) of Wood River, and Kathy Gahr of Carlinville.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Sean, Travis and Madison and two great-grandchildren, Mark and Kelsie.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton and will continue from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brighton.  Father Bill Kessler will officiate.  Burial will be at Brighton Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the Beverly Farm Foundation.  Online guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
