ALTON - The Alton River Dragons' designated hitter, Ethan Wielt, a Webster University player, had an outstanding game on Wednesday night, June 3, 2026, against the Cape Catfish with three hits and an RBI, but Cape prevailed 13-8 at Hopkins Field.
Kannon Kamp, a McGivney grad and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville student, was a standout again with two hits for the River Dragons. Charlie Renco also added two hits for Alton. Kamp added two RBI in his stat column.

Ryan Hartz, Walker Robey, and Ryan Konrad also had hits for the River Dragons.
Braxton Decker started and pitched four and a third innings, striking out three and allowing seven runs, only two earned. Michael Barker pitched two and two-thirds innings and struck out three for the Dragons. Keaton Favre and Hayden Wilson also saw relief time for the Dragons.
The River Dragons honored area first responders at the Wednesday night encounter with free admission.
The Dragons play Thursday, June 4, at Cape, then are home again on Friday, June 5, 2026, against the Catfish.
