GRANITE CITY – A Granite City man who allegedly tried fleeing police and two other local residents accused of possessing a stolen car face felony charges in Madison County.

43-year-old Danny G. Linhart Jr. of Granite City was charged on May 28, 2026 with two Class 4 felony counts of aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer.

Linhart allegedly knowingly attempted to flee from a Granite City Police officer who had signaled for Linhart to stop the vehicle he was driving on May 1, 2026. During his attempted flight from the officer, he reportedly exceeded 21 mph over the legal speed limit and disobeyed two or more traffic control devices.

Linhart was ordered released from custody pending trial in the case presented by the Granite City Police Department.

Two other area residents were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle in two connected cases.

Brittany M. Armbruster, 29, of Granite City, and Tyler S. Basye, 41, of Highland, were both charged on June 3, 2026 with Class 2 felony counts of offenses related to motor vehicles. Armbruster was also charged with a Class 2 felony count of possession of a stolen title.

The two were allegedly found in possession of a 2012 Ford Mustang while knowing the vehicle to have been stolen on April 28, 2026. Armbruster also reportedly knowingly possessed a stolen, altered, forged, or counterfeited vehicle title.

The Metro East Auto Theft Task Force presented both cases against Armbruster and Basye, both of whom were ordered released from custody pending trial.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
