The nonprofit covers all training, food, equipment and veterinary care expenses for each service dog throughout its lifetime. When a dog retires, the organization provides the veteran with another service dog.

Dogs For Our Brave was founded in 2014 by Andy and Marylynn Gladstein in California. The organization is now headquartered in St. Louis and serves veterans nationwide.

To date, the nonprofit has placed 40 dogs with veterans and currently serves 15 veteran service dog teams across the country.
