ST. LOUIS COUNTY - St. Louis County Police are investigating a homicide after a 43-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday night, July 11, 2026, in the 2100 block of Empire Court, authorities said.

The victim was identified as Darren Henderson, 43, of the 2100 block of Empire Court in St. Louis, Missouri 63136, according to the St. Louis County Police Department. Police said officers from the North County Precinct responded at 7:50 p.m. Saturday, July 11, to a call for service for a sick case at the location.

When officers arrived, they found Henderson suffering from apparent gunshot injuries, police said. He was taken to an area hospital for life-saving treatment but later died from his injuries.

St. Louis County Police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating the killing, which police said occurred as a result of a shooting.

A suspect is in custody, according to police. Preliminary investigation indicates Henderson was shot by the suspect following an argument.

Police described the case as an active investigation and said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
