"These two coaches will be huge additions to our program here at SIUE," Wassermann said. "I have had some great mentors in my life and I knew when I took this position that one of the most important pieces to the puzzle was to build a staff that would work well together while helping to develop our student-athletes. Stephen Gorton has been a great addition already and I am thrilled to have these two on board as well."

Henry comes to SIUE after spending the 2018 season at Central Arkansas of the Missouri Valley Conference. He helped guide the Bears to the 2018 MVC regular season and tournament title. From 2015-2017 Henry was the top assistant coach at Evansville. He spent two seasons at Drury, a Division II institution in Springfield, Missouri. All three of those programs increased their winning percentages during the time Henry was on staff.

He began his college coaching career at SIUE, spending the 2011 season as the Cougars' Director of Operations.

"Ian is the perfect fit for our staff here at SIUE," Wassermann said. "Another guy who has ties to the area not only from his playing days, but early in his coaching career coaching at the St. Louis Scott Gallagher club along with a stint here at SIUE as the Director of Ops. I have watched Ian grow in his last few coaching roles and have seen him have such a positive impact on those programs. I love the energy Ian brings and he will give us an immediate boost with his recruiting experience, understanding of the game, and willingness to go the extra mile."

Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Henry played college soccer at Missouri Baptist where he earned a bachelor's in sports management.

Brennan comes to SIUE after spending two seasons at McKendree. Brennan helped guide the program to its first GLVC Tournament appearance in 2018, where the Bearcats lost in the semi-finals to Bellarmine.

Brennan also serves as the Director of Goalkeeping for Saint Louis Scott Gallagher, Illinois, Boys.

Originally from Edwardsville, Brennan played three seasons at Louisville before transferring to Salisbury, an NCAA Division III program in Maryland, where he earned a bachelor's in psychology in 2011. He currently is pursuing a master's at McKendree.

"Daniel is a bright young coach and we are excited to have him on board," Wassermann added. "It is great for us to have someone so tied into the Edwardsville community and the local soccer scene. Although his main focus will be the development of our goalkeepers, we know he will bring so much more to the table. Daniel is sharp and communicates well, he will be involved in every aspect of the program and will be a huge addition."
