GLEN CARBON - Father McGivney Catholic High School said it is celebrating alumnus Seaman Parker Blanchette, a member of the class of 2026, after he graduated from U.S. Coast Guard Basic Training on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Cape May, New Jersey.

The school announced that Blanchette will next report to Coast Guard Air Station Humboldt Bay in California.

In California, Blanchette will shadow search and rescue swimmers and continue preparing for AST, or Aviation Survival Technician, School.

Blanchette was previously a Father McGivney Catholic baseball player.

“We are proud to celebrate Seaman Parker Blanchette, a McGivney alum ('26) who recently graduated from U.S. Coast Guard Basic Training at Cape May, New Jersey, on Friday, July 10,” the school said recently.

The school also said, “Parker will now report to Coast Guard Air Station Humboldt Bay in California, where he will shadow search and rescue swimmers and continue preparing for AST (Aviation Survival Technician) School. We wish him the very best as he begins this next chapter!”
