Montclaire Gets Past Collinsville To Win Overall SWISA Championship,  Boys Hold Off Summers Port To Win Title

EDWARDSVILLE - Montclaire Swim Club of Edwardsville overcame a very strong showing by the boys of Collinsville Swim Club to win the overall Southwestern Illinois Swimming Association championship at the annual league meet Sunday, July 19, 2026, hosted by the Marlins at the Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center on the campus of Edwardsville High School.

Montclaire won the over title with 1.916.5 points, getting past the Gators, who scored 1,697,5 points, in third place was Summers Port Swim Club of Godfrey, with 1,614 points, Paddlers Swim Club of Granite City was fourth at 1,08 points, and Sunset Hill Country Club of Edwardsville was fifth at 337 points.

In the boys standings, the Marlins won the title with 1.024 points to hold off the Sharks, who were second with 823 points. The Gators were third with 756 points, the Pirates came in fourth with 422 points, and the Stingrays finished fifth with 38 points.

In the boys' individual results, starting with the boys eight-and-under division, Sebastian Pellegrini-Heath of the Marlins won the 50-yard freestyle at 39.60 seconds, while Montclaire's 100-yard medley relay team of Gavin Sweet, Jack Ferguson, Pellegrini-Heath, and Logan Hutchens won the race at 1:34.43. Pellegrini-Heath also won the 25-yard freestyle at 18,49 seconds, with Summers Port's Henry Harman winning the 25-yard backstroke at 23.92 seconds, teammate Leo Wilson took the 25-yard breaststroke at 25.94 seconds, Diego Dunn of Paddlers won the 250yard butterfly at 23.25 seconds, and Montclaire's team of Hutchens, Pellegrini-Heath, Chris Barth, and Oliver Werner won the 100-yard freestyle relay at 1:19.05.

In the nine-and-10-year-old group, Collinsville's Caleb Kober won the 100-yard freestyle at 1:19.89, while the Gators' team of Reed Take, Kober, Sawyer Meredith, and Issac Davis won the 100-yard medley relay at 1:32.31, Daxton Parrish of Collinsville won the 100-yard individual medley at 2:19.96, Montclaire's Issac Barth won the 50-yard freestyle at 34.09 seconds, then won the 50-yard backstroke at 39.42 seconds, Kober brought home the 50-yard breaststroke at 51.52 seconds, Barth won the 50-yard butterfly at 48.05 seconds, and Montclaire's 100-yard freestyle relay team of Barth, Lincoln Seay, Will Ferguson, and Will Fultz won the race at 1:15.57.

In the results of the 11-and-12 division, Cooper Hutchens of the Marlins won the 100-yard freestyle at 1:03.67. In contrast, the 200-yard medley relay team of Hutchens, Hudson Little, Ashton Eastman, and Cameron Stowe won for Montclaire at 2:18.98, with Little winning the 100-yard individual medley at 1:17.63, Wren Wilhelm won the 50-yard freestyle for the Marlins at 36.91 seconds, Eastman won the 50-yard freestyle at 28.21 seconds, and also won the 50-yard backstroke at 32.01 seconds, with Collinsville's Esa Schreader winning the 50-yard breaststroke at 39.61 seconds, East, am wpm the 50-yard butterfly at 32.38 seconds. The Marlins' 100-yard freestyle relay team of Hutchens, Little, Joe Meyer, and Eastman won the race at 2:03.24.

In the 13-and-14 age group, the Marlins' Caiden Calvin won the 100-yard freestyle at 54.75 seconds, while Eli Aldridge of the Sharks won the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:09.47, Bob Nanny of the Gators won the 50-yard freestyle at 23.04 seconds, Calvin won his second event by taking the 50-yard backstroke at 31.42 seconds, Nanney took home his second win in the 50-yard breaststroke at 28.23 seconds, ant then won the 50-yard butterfly at 25.16 seconds.

In the 15-18 age group, Luke Berger of the Gators won the 100-yard freestyle at 51.03 seconds, then went on to win the 100-yard individual medley at 58.47 seconds, and took his third straight event by winning the 50-yard freestyle at 23.13 seconds. Teammate Bram Malsbury won the 50-yard backstroke at 27.16 seconds, while Erick Humphrey of the Sharks won the 50-yard breaststroke at 29.97 seconds, and Malsbury won the 50-yard butterfly at 26.94 seconds.

In a pair of 13-18-year-old relay races, the Gators' team of Malsbury, Nanney, Berger, and Jackson Bracamontes won the 200-yard medley relay at 1:48.48, while the team of Nanney, Bracamontes, Malsbury, and Berger won the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:37.44.
