Hosted by the Shipman Firefighters Association and the Shipman Fire Department, the celebration included food, drinks, and festivities, along with a dramatic fireworks display that lasted about 20 minutes.
The annual event featured ribeye sandwiches, pork patties and hot dogs. Many people attend the Shipman fireworks festival each year, and this year’s fireworks display was described as outstanding.
Fire officials also thanked those who “took a chance on our beautiful flag plaque commemorating America’s 250th Celebration that was donated by Rocking H Woodworks in Staunton and Scott Hopkins.” Kim Reed won the plaque, shown in the photo above.
