Yin Yang Yoga

This class will start with gentle, building vinyasa flow connecting breath to movement in order to warm the body. The second half will consist of slow paced Yin style yoga. Yin poses are held for 2-3 minutes each and help release the connective tissues of the body. During the yin portion the class will also focus on deep relaxation and meditation. This style of practice taps into our parasympathetic nervous systems and may leave you feeling relaxed and renewed, as if you had a deep tissue massage. Fee: $10 per session

About the Instructor: Nancy is a certified RYT 200 yoga instructor, and is the sole proprietor of Center Path Yoga. She started her yoga journey over 20 years ago in Cambridge Massachusetts where she took power yoga classes with Baron Baptiste. She completed her teacher training with Jen Jones and Jami Marsoun here in Edwardsville, and takes classes and workshops to broaden her practice at every opportunity. She has studied with many inspiring yoga teachers over the years including Tias Little, Shiva Rea, Patricia Walden, Ana Forrest, and Cindi Lee. She is planning on studying accessible yoga this spring and hopes to offer yoga and meditation to seniors in the area. Most recently Nancy has been teaching Yoga for Runners at Edwardsville’s Runwell store downtown, and will continue with a third Runner’s series starting in March.
