@ River of Life Family Church - Alton, IL
ALTON, IL – Churches on the Streets is offering a free educational human trafficking workshop to help anyone who is willing to a part of the solution in this horrific injustice that is quickly becoming the number one crime in America. “Human trafficking isn’t just an international crime or something that only happens in other parts of the country; it’s happening here in our own backyard. Not only is it an illicit trade that can be difficult to detect, but also victims often don’t come forward to report their experiences. The more we can engage the public and raise awareness, the more we will be able to prevent trafficking from happening and identify victims and perpetrators, “says Angela Valdes.
Angela is a trained educator who travels the country and works on the front lines with homelessness, vulnerable communities, speaks at conferences, churches, businesses, trains first responders and the general public.
The event will be held Wednesday, May 15 at River of Life Family Church, 3410 Fosterburg Rd, Alton, Illinois in their new Blake Snyder Center. The times are 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. There is no charge but an RSVP is required as space is limited. RSVP to ChurchesontheStreets@gmail.com. No children please.
