Trick Or Treating- 2020 Rules and Recommendations
 
Trick or Treating in East Alton will take place on Oct 30/31, between 6:00 pm and 8:00pm for those that are 12 years old and younger.
Obviously, everybody wants to have fun and we want you to have fun as well! We've attached a few tips to make this year's trick or treating go as smoothly and as safe as possible.
-FIRST AND FOREMOST, if you have tested positive for Covid-19, show symptoms of the corona virus, or have been exposed to someone with symptoms or had tested positive, PLEASE DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THIS YEAR'S TRICK OR TREATING.
-Only go to houses with a porch or yard light illuminated.
-(Residents, if you don't want trick or treaters, please keep your lights off during this time).
If you choose to give away candy, here are some safety tips which have been recommended by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Preferably:
-No homemade items
-No community bowl for kids to reach in
-Maintain social distancing
-Consider having treats wrapped individually and leave them on a table to avoid person-to-person contact
Utilize these Precautions:
-Wear a Halloween themed cloth mask
-A costume mask is not a substitute for a cloth mask
-A costume mask over a cloth mask may be dangerous for breathing and seeing
-Maintain social distancing
-Trick or Treat in groups with household members
-Do not consume treats until at home and hands are washed properly.
