Nature Notes: Education Volunteer Workshop

The Nature Institute (TNI) is searching for volunteers to assis t with school field trips. As a thank you for giving your time to today's youth, TNI is putting together workshops that continue the nature educati on of our volunteers. Some topics that will be covered will include\; TNI' s field trip curriculum, best practices for leading a group, natural his tory topics, Alton history topics, and much more.

Even though this wo rkshop is geared towards education volunteers all TNI volunteers and those interested in becoming TNI volunteers are welcome to attend. We will star t each meeting at the lodge.

The topic this month will be TNI's Spring on the Preserve field trip curriculum. You will meet long time volunteers that have been leading rotations and will learn the basics for how to step in and lead a group yourself. It may sound daunting, but we desire to gi ve you all the tools and resources to feel comfortable outside with a grou p of kids.
