Candidate Event

About this event

The League of Women Voters Edwardsville Area and the Edwardsville Chapter of the NAACP invite members of the community to a bipartisan Candidate Event on October 2nd at 7:00 pm at the Wildey Theater, 252 N. Main St. in Edwardsville.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about local candidates before you cast your ballot. 

Candidates for Madison County Board Districts 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 were invited, along with candidates for Illinois State Representative for Districts 111 and 112. In cases where only one candidate agrees to appear, they can present themselves to the voters.  When both candidates agree to appear, questions are solicited from the audience, carefully selected for fairness and policy focus, and read to each candidate. 

According to this criteria, individual candidates from County Board Districts 22 and 23 will present themselves to the voters, as will candidates for Illinois State Representative for Districts 111 and 112.

Since all candidates for County Board Member Districts 24, 25 and 26 agreed to appear, questions will be solicited from the audience, carefully selected for fairness and policy focus, and read to both candidates for each race. 

This is a public event.  All are welcome to a polite and informative program.
