Ms. Crystal Officer Keynotes Mt. Joy Missionary Baptist Church’s Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Program


Edwardsville, IL, January 2, 2025 – Mt. Joy Missionary Baptist Church is honored to announce Ms. Crystal Officer as the keynote speaker for its Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Program. Ms. Officer, the first Black CEO of Beverly Farm Foundation in Godfrey, IL, will address the community on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 10:00 am, at Mt. Joy Church, 327 Olive Street, Edwardsville, IL 62025. This year’s theme, “Faith Over Fear: Courageous Leadership in Times of Change,” will be the focus of Ms. Officer’s remarks.

Ms. Officer is an International Best-Selling Author and a distinguished leader in disability services. Her career began as a Direct Support Professional, and she has since advanced to executive leadership roles, including Senior Vice President at Ada S. McKinley Community Services in Chicago. She also serves on the Boards of the River Bend Growth Association and the Boys and Girls Club of Alton, IL. Additionally, she is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and is as an inspirational speaker and licensed evangelist, whose dedication to serving others has earned her the prestigious Empowerment Award.

Ms. Officer holds a master’s degree in public administration from Murray State University and professional management certifications from Purdue University, Cornell University, and Harvard University School of Business. Beyond her professional career, Crystal cherishes time with her daughters, Hope and Faith, and enjoys writing and playing the cello. Ms. Officer hails from Owensboro, KY.
In previous years, Mt. Joy has hosted distinguished speakers such as St. Louis radio and TV personality Carol Daniels, American Catholic Church’s Cardinal Wilton Daniel Gregory, and Edwardsville School District’s Assistant Superintendent Dr. Cornelia Smith. This year, we look forward to another inspiring address that will enrich our celebration and inspire our community.

Mt. Joy Missionary Baptist Church, a cornerstone of the Greater Edwardsville Religious Community since 1869, is proud to continue its tradition of honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with this community event.
