MLK Day - Honoring the Tuskegee Airmen at Edwardsville American Legion

Edwardsville’s American Legion Post 199 is proud to be partnering with the St. Louis Hugh J. White Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. as it celebrates Martin Luther King Day on January 20th 2025.

 

Many may remember the 1995 movie “The Tuskegee Airmen” or the later 2012 movie “RedTails” that told the story of the first ever black combat airmen of the US Army Air Corps that fought in WWII and what they had to overcome to serve their country. The mission of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. is to keep the historic legacy of all the African-American pilots, aircrew, and support staff of WWII.

 

As a fitting salute to these distinguished patriots, and St. Louis’ own Captain Hugh White, on MLK Day, Post 199 is donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to the Hugh J. White Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
