Celebrate the Mississippi River with paddlers, river enthusiasts, and music lovers at this year’s Mississippi Meanderings, hosted by the Mississippi River Water Trail Association. This annual event explores the cultural and historical significance of the river, with this year’s focus on music.

Event Highlights:

  • 12:00-1:00 PM: Meet and greet with coffee and snacks.
  • 1:00-1:15 PM: Awards and announcements.
  • 1:15-1:30 PM: Dean Klinkenberg presents "The Music of the Mississippi Valley: A Brief History."
  • 1:30-2:30 PM: Kevin Belford, author of Devil at the Confluence, discusses the vibrant pre-war blues scene in St. Louis.
  • 2:45-3:45 PM: Trapper Haskins shares his incredible source-to-sea journey in a homemade rowboat and presents "Crooked Old River: Rowing Toward Redemption on the Mississippi."
  • 4:00-4:30 PM: Acoustic music set by Trapper Haskins, including original songs inspired by the river.

Optional Dinner:
Join attendees at Old Bakery Brewery at 5:30 PM for a casual post-event dinner (self-pay).
