Native Pollinator Garden at Hayner Library

Sunday, May 18 2025 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ Downtown Library | Alton, IL

About this event

Want to learn about local native plants and how to attract pollinators to your garden? Join us as we plant a new native pollinator garden at Hayner Library! We’re partnering with The Sierra Club to plant beds located in our Downtown Library parking lot, beautifying the space and making it welcoming for bees and butterflies. Together we’ll prepare the soil and get hands-on with native plants, learning about their benefits and the types of pollinators they attract. Please bring any gardening tools you find useful. There will be tools available for beginners, but supplies are limited. No registration is required. All skill levels and gardening experience are welcome. We’ll meet in the Downtown Library parking lot, at the corner of Belle Street and W. Fourth Street, at 12:30 p.m.
