Firecracker Race

About this event

Canoe, Kayak, and SUP race on the Mississippi River from Grafton to Alton, 15 miles.  The race will end at the Alton marina.  Come race with us on the most scenic section of the entire Mississippi River.  Several safety boaters will be with you along the way including a motor boat observing all of the racers safety.  Kayak rentals are available for those that need gear.  All proceeds benefit the Mississippi River Water Trail, a 501.3c non-profit promoting river recreation and conservation.

After the race come to the Old Bakery Beer Company, a short walk or drive directly across Hwy 67 for food and drinks. There we will have the award ceremony and raffle starting no later than 3:30. The top 3 from each of the 18 classes will receive an award.  Also an after race dinner is included for all racers. For those that cannot stay for dinner, we are offering a performance race T-shirt. Others can order food and drinks directly from the restaurant. Free beer for everyone while it lasts. An optional $5 shuttle is also available for racers.
