Women’s clothing retailer Christopher and Banks has announced it has filed for bankruptcy protection and plans to close all its locations. The company operates 449 locations in 44 states and the closure includes the store at Alton Square Mall.
The owners announced the bankruptcy plan this morning and would seek a buyer for its online retail operation and remaining inventory. The plan is to shut down operations at brick and motor locations by the end of February. The company cited changing shopping patterns and the COVID-19 pandemic as the primary reasons for the decision to close.
