A long-time employee of the Alton Park and Recreation Department and the man many credit with bringing soccer to the city is being honored with the naming of the micro soccer fields at Gordon Moore Park. Charlie Nasello celebrated his 80th birthday with a small ceremony at Johnson's Corner, and the fields were dedicated in his name during the celebration.

The fields are located on the left hand side of the road as you are entering the park, just past the new inclusive playground. The party was held Saturday night.
