An East Alton man has been identified as the person found dead on a parking lot earlier this week in a semi-remote area of the village. The Madison County Coroner’s Office said the man is 62-year-old David Dugan of East Alton. A passerby called police after discovering the body on Monday.
Authorities say Dugan’s body was found on Monday evening on an unused parking lot of Wieland Rolled Products, near Shamrock and Industrial. The cause of death does not appear to be suspicious as Dugan apparently suffered from multiple health issues. An autopsy is being conducted to determine an exact cause of death and East Alton Police also continue an investigation into the discovery of the body.
