A new Postmaster for the United States Postal Service has some elected officials nervous about what lies ahead for on-time delivery of mail before and up to Election Day in November. Democrat US Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois says he’s hearing growing suspicion about being able to count on being counted if you choose to vote by mail.

Durbin says the Post Office should assure on time delivery of mail and ballots and wants the Senate to appropriate money to the USPS to shore up its operations.
