Tonight (Wednesday) is the start of the Alton Expo, with five nights of carnival food, rides, games, and other special attractions on the Alton riverfront. Centered around the Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater, there will be local bands throughout the event, a new fishing tournament on Saturday, and the popular mud volleyball tournament.
The first two nights can be a tough sell to get people to the event, so Amphitheater Commission Chairman Robert Stephan tells The Big Z they are having a couple of special promotions, including reduced prices on some things tonight and tomorrow.
