The Illinois Department of Corrections recently completed its yearly inspection of the Madison County Jail, and it was again a report crediting the Sheriff's Department with improvements in many areas. Among the improvements over the previous year were the addition of a body scanner, surveillance cameras, and AED’s.
Madison County Jail Administrator William Marconi tells The Big Z a combination of tech improvements and a good team gets the credit for the good review.

The DOC keeps a close eye on state jails and gives them a grading on a yearly basis to keep all jails in compliance with state laws and standards.
