The forensic audit at Lewis and Clark Community College that was approved at the Board of Trustees’ November meeting has begun and is already raising some questions. Forensic Accounting and Consulting Services was hired at that time to review the college’s internal controls, policies, and procedures.

Trustee Dwight Werts asked for an update, which was given by the college’s Vice President of Finance Mary Schulte.

The contract that was agreed upon was “not to exceed $5,000.” As has been the case with many votes since the new board vas seated following the spring election, the four voting together to approve paying the college’s bills – which is what this topic fell under - were Board Chair David Heyen, and trustees Julie Johnson, Kevin Rust, and Charles Hanfelder. Voting against were Brenda Walker McCain, Dwight Werts and Robert Watson. You can hear the full discussion
