Several inches of rain are expected to drench the Riverbend and surrounding area through early Wednesday. One to three inches is what forecasters at the National Weather Service are predicting throughout the next couple of days, which could lead to flash flooding.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Kevin Deitsch tells The Big Z the system is expected to be a slow-mover, and camp out over the region for a day or so.

While the impact on larger rivers like the Mississippi, Missouri and Illinois will likely be minor, some of the smaller rivers might find themselves overflowing at moderate levels. First responders remind if you see water crossing the road, “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
