Officials at the Illinois State Fair say it looks like this year's event was a success. For starters, the grandstand concert series broke records for both ticket sales and revenue.

State Fair Manager Kevin Gordon says overall atmosphere at the fair was really positive, with several new promotions, contests, the return of popular acts like the skydive show, and live entertainment on several stages.

Gordon says attendance numbers aren't available yet, but that he heard from several vendors pleased with sales this year.
