Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has announced $10.5 million in planning funds to create preliminary designs for a Health Science Building on the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville campus. Pritzker made the announcement during a visit to the campus on Thursday afternoon.
With the investment, Pritzker says the university’s current and future students will have a world class education in a world class facility, noting the various campuses and the areas in which they specialize.

The complex will include approximately 221,000 square feet. The project’s total cost is approximately $105 million. It would be the largest building on the SIUE campus. University Chancellor Randy Pembrook anticipates a one-year design phase followed by two years of construction.
