The Alton City Council has laid over a resolution to conduct an engineering assessment of the options for a permanent solution to the destabilization of the retaining wall on Riverview Drive. They hope to bring it back as soon as possible once some of the details have been worked out. The wall borders the edge of the bluffs, and erosion in the area has caused cracking and shifting to occur.

In other business, more demolitions were approved, continuing an effort to rid the city of derelict properties. Next up for the wrecking ball will be structures at 1613 Joesting and 1321 Central Avenue.
