If you want to get the COVID-19 vaccine in Madison County, you are being advised to fill out the online survey the county’s health department published last week. That will let the Health Department know how many doses they will need, and it gives them information to contact you when it’s your turn.

About 30,000 surveys have already been filled out, but there is still more people to reach. The hope is to get more response from those age 65 and older. Amy Yeager tells The Big Z if you aren’t comfortable using the internet, ask someone you trust to help you navigate the process.

She says you can always call, but cautions they are not always able to respond promptly. The number is 692-8954. Vaccines are currently being given to those in Phase 1A, which includes healthcare workers, and residents and staff at long-term care facilities.
