Charges have been filed against an Otterville man after he allegedly set fire to a home in the town earlier this month. 34-year-old Roger Pace, Jr., has been charged with two counts of aggravated arson after allegedly setting fire to a home in the 100 block of East Main Street in Otterville on September 12.
Fire crews from the QEM Fire Department responded with the assistance of Brighton, Jerseyville, Fieldon and Godfrey Fire Departments and one occupant inside the residence was able to escape without injury. The origin appeared to be suspicious which lead to an investigation by the Jersey County Sheriff’s Department and the charges filed against Pace who is in custody on a $500,000 bond. His next court appearance is set for Monday in Jersey County Court.
