Bethalto Mayor Alan Winslow will not seek a third term. He made the decision a few years ago, but it just started becoming more public late last year. He says that was so that if anyone wanted to run for the position, they would have time to organize a plan to do so.

He tells The Big Z he is pleased with many accomplishments over his eight years in office, including those of fiscal responsibility.

He is also pleased with the improvements in the flooding issues, although he notes there is still more work to be done. As for what he plans to do in the future, he expects to spend more time volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club. The only candidate on the ballot for Mayor in April is current Trustee Gary Bost.
