The Grafton tourism industry relies on people from some distance traveling to town, so the mayor wants you to know the city is open for business. Tourism continues to be the town's biggest economic engine, and even with the Mississippi river on the rise, nearly everything is still accessible and open, according to Rick Eberlin.

He tells The Big Z they have been talking with IDOT to better maintain access to the city.

He says the message that the city is not flooded could be better promoted as well, noting that it would take a river level of about 28 feet would make things difficult. right now, the river is predicted to crest early next week well below that number.
