The SIUE Board of Trustees have approved a $6-million budget to cover a wide variety of improvements and additions to campus life. Part of the budget approved by school officials will cover the expansion and renovation of their greenhouse. Over $2.5 million will go to the greenhouse which will include a new 1,500 square foot wing.

$3.5-million in contracts for various bus transportation services on campus will go to contracts with four different bus companies to provide service on campus for students and staff. They include Vandalia Bus Line, Chancer LLC, North America Central School Bus, and First Student Inc, all Illinois bus companies. Two appointments were also added to the SIUE School of Dental Medicine in uptown Alton. Two new assistant deans began their responsibilities on the campus in July.
