The Third Judicial Circuit in Madison and Bond Counties is issuing guidance on what trials will proceed, as COVID-19 health precautions remain in place. According to the most recent directive from that court, the most serious cases that require a jury trial will take priority over others like DUI, misdemeanor, traffic, and municipal ordinance violations.
Chief Judge William Mudge tells The Big Z the more serious cases go to the front of the line for now.

As for the other order that came out on Friday, the stay on evictions was extended to be in harmony with the directive from the state, which halts most evictions until the end of the year.
